Massage

MassageMassage can be described as being the manipulation of the body’s soft tissues (skin and muscle) using various techniques. It can be tailored to be remedial for specific muscular problems, oriented towards relaxation, or a combination of both.

The relaxation of the muscles which massage promotes can improve mobility and flexibility whilst easing the pain that tight muscles and stiffness can bring. Therapeutic touch by it's very nature is nurturing and promotes an increased sense of wellbeing.

The physically relaxing effects of massage can in turn help you to release stored mental stress. The stimulation and soothing of the nerve endings which occurs during massage triggers an endorphin (feel good hormones) release. This release promotes relaxation, a state of calm, and can counteract some of the negative effects which stress can have on your body.
